Outline of the media support program

Tokyo Metropolitan Government Media Support Program

For foreign media members planning TV programs, print articles, or radio programs related to tourism in Tokyo, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government offers generous support services. For more information about the Media Support Program, which is offered in connection with our "City Promotion" campaign, please contact the Tokyo Convention and Visitors Bureau (TCVB) at (mediasupport@tcvb.or.jp).

The general details and conditions of the program are below:

When first contacting us, please send the application form including: an outline of content, details about the publications and/or TV stations involved, your tentative schedule, and the planned dates of publication and/or broadcasting.

Upon acceptance of your application, we are happy to provide the following services:

Offered by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, free of charge:

• Up to three nights accommodation for up to three persons
• Transportation expenses in Tokyo and to/from Narita Airport
• Guide for up to three days
• Entrance fees to the tourist attractions and venues

Expenses not covered by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government:

• Airline tickets
• Meals
• Any other expenses not listed above

Before applying, we ask that you note the following conditions:

• The final product (articles or program) must be related to tourism in Tokyo.
• The publication dates of articles and the dates of TV and radio broadcasts must be set in advance of arrival.
• The coverage or shooting must be concluded by March 31, 2013.
• The final product must be sent to TCVB after publication and/or broadcasting.
• Applications must be received more than three weeks (or earlier) in advance of your date of arrival.

After publication or broadcasting
Please send two copies of your articles/DVDs with English summary.
